I wear these two bracelets everyday along with a hair tie on my right wrist. It's not because I like the colors. It's not because I want to be a hipster. And it's definitely not because it's my style (these things are huge on me!).
I wear them to show support. They both sponsor cancer survivorship. And its my way of showing my friend that I support him. He recently lost his mother to cancer. And being the tough, independent guy he is, he never talks about it. I mean NEVER. I feel like as long as I wear these, it's like some secret club. The "I love you. I'm here for you. A shoulder to cry on. Someone to hug. Someone to make you laugh. A getaway" club. And its membership is extremely exclusive. ;)
He and I may not talk about his mom. We may not talk about what he went through. Or what he goes through every day since she left. But we have a different way of communicating - through our actions. And to me, these bracelets are just that.
