Like those moments I just spent like half an hour stalking my favoritest missionary/roommate HPen's blog because I just sat and watched the Notebook and my rommates are slowly disappearing and I sat without pants on for a couple hours today and I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the summer.
I think it's time the mission gives back my friends.
Meanwhile, I have a lot of blogging to catch up on apparently! Just now realizing how far behind I am. Like extremely.
You people don't even know that I lived with my best friend for the last 6 weeks! Or that I wrote a grant! Or that I declared a major! Yeah, I'm hot stuff. Lemme tell you, Provo is looking good on this girl.
Except for when it decides to snow in June. WUT.

This Is For HPen
I miss you. I have this whole big apartment to myself. I wish I could share it with you. BABY COME BACK. Actually, maybe you could live like next door. We both know how your messy and my OCD for cleaning don't go too well together. But at least you could be in the same time zone at the very least. Please.
Side note for everyone else: Sorry that I haven't blogged in a month. I've been crazy busy. I definitely have plenty to write about. But I just need time to get caught up. RA training, you know what I'm saying?

Renaming the Blog
Quite honestly I've been thinking about renaming it for a while. Mainly because I wasn't a starving college student in the making anymore, I was the starving college student. I know it's like not kosher or whatever to change the title of something after it's been shown, but at the same time I feel justified in saying that it was just a working title.
As I change so does what I write/care about. So why shouldn't I be able to switch things up?
Why "Adventure is Out There"? I think it's pretty clear if you just read some of the post below. I'm still a teenager for the time being and then I'll be in my 20s and from what everyone tells me I just have to live it up. So adventures are coming for me, and I'll be looking for 'em. I've got quite a few under my belt already and I just get excited now for the future - it's not so scary anymore.

FRICK
The problem with passwords is that I have to many of them! And then I can't remember which one is for which freaking log-in. So then I end up locking myself out in important moments. Like when I want to comment on H's blog post because I miss her more than a poor college freshman guy misses his meals in the Cannon when he's trying to save money/ran out. Words can't express my love for this gal. And she's pretty freaking funny too. So here's my responses.
Tough life, H. STOP I'M SO JEALOUS AND I MISS YOU. COMEBACKTOMEEEE.
LET’SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS TALK ABOUT THE SNAPCHAT.
^that's what I was going to say. Sorry Lake, she's my roommate so I have dibs.
Have I taught you nothing? ALWAYS give your number to the creepy guy. Especially on your birthday when I told you to party like I would. Jeez. SMH.
Okay that's it.

The Internet
So I'm sitting here at the delightfully perfect time of 12:20 in the morning thinking about how I should go to bed, but clearly I procrastinate even that. And I'm stalking one of my favorite blogs - definitely could be THE fav. Anyway, I'm sitting there just catching up on posts because it's been a while and I realize how weird the internet is. Like I don't know if anyone else has noticed it, and it definitely didn't hit me until today. But there are just so many weird things about the internet!
It makes stalking easier.
It didn't exist until fairly recently, but now it seems like a staple.
It's definitely required to succeed in college now (sort of bittersweet, I suppose).
Do we even know how to communicate without it?
And yet, here I am writing about the internet on the internet because I'm too lazy to pull out a pen and pencil and write it all down. So yes, I recognize the irony in all the words written up to this point.
I really don't know where I'm going with this, but I feel like I definitely have some thoughts about it now I guess.
Ps. I shouldn't be allowed to function after 12. For evidence, read above post.

Tuesday Night Letters
Yeah, I decided to do it again. But I didn't get them done last night. And I've pretty much lost all motivation to do anything right now so here I am blogging. Obviously.
Dear Chipman Chunkers,
CLEAN UP YOUR CRAP. I thought I made it clear ya'll needed to stop cooking in the last letter. But if you insist, could you please at least do your own dishes. That mac n' cheese is going to be so gross three days from now when you finally decide to wash it out. Not to mention the fact that it is a communal kitchen and when I have the urge to, oh I don't know, make some cookies for FHE, I don't want to have to feel like I need to deep clean myself and the kitchen after cooking.
Dear Elder Lichtenberg,
I'm so glad that I got to see you before you left. You're the best and have helped me through so much this past semester. I'll see you in two years!
PS. I forgot the camera. Luckily I have the best roommate ever who remembers these things.
Dear Friends,
I love you and that is the only reason why I allow you to make jokes at my expense. Just remember that.
Dear Roomie,
We're the best. Need I say more?
Dear Econ Book,
You are so boring. I don't like you. You steal the little bit of sunshine out of my soul at 1 am. Why do you hate me? Treat others as you wanted to be treated.
Dear High School,
I don't miss you.
Dear Math,
I don't miss you either.
Dear Hobos,
I have a newfound respect for you. Your life choice is looking more and more promising everyday.
Dear Weather,
Thank you for being so cooperative for this California girl. I really do love and appreciate it. (But seriously).
Dear College,
You are completely and totally the epitome of a love/hate relationship. You'd be a whole lot better if you lost the whole school part and focused on the social aspect. A lot more people would love you if that were the case. But for now you're stuck with me.
Dear Scholarship Funders,
Thanks for paying my tuition so that I can sit here and whine about it. Truly, you're the best.
Dear Life,
Thanks for this journey. It's one heck of a ride.
Love,
Brittani

I Just Don't Know...
So this blog is the closest thing I have to a journal. I know that that is so pathetic. I mean everything you see is not everything I write, simply because somethings are more personal for obvious reasons. But I really do feel like I need to blog/journal more. Things are more exciting here and the Y than I let on, promises! And I know that I will regret not writing things down later on. But how do I know what's going to be important years down the road if I don't even know what's important five seconds from now?
This has been hands down the most challenging time in my life. The Church puts so much emphasis on the youth and then all of sudden, it's like "Here you are. Out you go into the real world. So... good luck with that." And the young adults are all trying to figure out what just happened and at the same time stay spiritual and stay focused on our studies and make friends and re-establish life as we know it.
But I truly believe that the Lord is there to guide us. (I promise I wasn't planning on being cliché when I started typing this) He know what's going on and has a better view of the future than I ever could. So here's to sticking to it, and plugging along when the tough times come.

Genetic Blog {Five}
In SFL 210, child development, a lot of emphasis is placed on how parents influence development in children. This can be cognitive, emotional, social, or moral development. How we are raised determines how we will grow in the world. If our parents are kind and warm in rearing us, and teach us how to react with others we will reach social competence and be able to contribute to the world.
We will be able to show empathy and sympathize with those around us.
We will learn the value of hard work and realize that effort is greater than ability.
We will understand morality and treat others with kindness and equality.
We will serve those around us.
And most importantly, we will prepare to raise our children in such a way that they, too, will be influential in society.
I have never been more grateful for my parents until I came to BYU. I appreciate their sacrifices more, long to be near to them, and strive to better our relationships in every way possible. Learning about the roles of parents in our development have encouraged me to reflect on my childhood and realize how successful it was. Not only am I learning ideas that will help me pass the test, I’m learning about myself and my relationships with my family and that is the most important concept I will learn by far.

Genetic Blog {Four}
One quote that has always stuck with me through my life is
Gordon B. Hinckley
It has been on my fridge for as long as I can remember and has become a motto of sorts for my family. We struggled as I grew up, but our little family of three – my mom, my brother, and me – held strong in the knowledge that we no matter what happened we would be together.Being here at BYU has brought its challenges; some I thought I would never encounter in my life. It has been one of the biggest trials and blessings in my life. In my Book of Mormon class a few weeks ago, we studied 2 Nephi 5. Brother Merrill emphasized how every element of happiness is described in this chapter: work, the temple, the scriptures, the commandments, etc. As the weather changes, bringing longer nights and cold weather, attitudes change. It is important to focus on the good things that are happening in our lives instead of letting the bad aspects affect us.
In our lives as students specifically, we need to understand that trying our hardest is a positive things. And as long as we know that we have gained a knowledge, our test scores should not affect our well-being. Also, being away from home can leave us longing for that which we left at home: our friends, our family, our communities. But Provo is our new home and we need to build it up even here and take it on as our home and look for the good around us instead of wishing we had the past back.
The most important thing for us to focus our efforts on is the Gospel, and everything else will fall into place.

I Haven't Had Time To Blog Because I've Been Too Busy Living
However, a wise friend told me that some of the best blog posts come during periods of procrastination. So we'll see.
PS: I get to blog for a class. Keyword being GET! Only problem is it's on a specific topic... like globalization and transnationalism and interdisciplinary and what not. I'm okay with it for now.
