I Haven't Had Time To Blog Because I've Been Too Busy Living

However, a wise friend told me that some of the best blog posts come during periods of procrastination. So we'll see.

PS: I get to blog for a class. Keyword being GET! Only problem is it's on a specific topic... like globalization and transnationalism and interdisciplinary and what not.  I'm okay with it for now.

Things I've Heard On Campus

Oh my heck.

You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a temple.

This is a good place for a date.

This is a good place for FHE.

This is a good place to socialize.

(Notice studying is missing)

Are you available?

If only I could show you things I've seen.

Welcome to Happy Valley.

I really am not okay with this whole 'moving' thing.

I have never EVER thought more about backing out of something until now. Obviously I'm still going. Not going would be ridiculous. But saying goodbye to my best friends in the world is one of the hardest things to do. How will I have lunch without having to yell at the boys to pick up their trash? Where am I going to go when I realize I can't just show up at Brendan's house? Who am I supposed to lean on when I just need to cry?
To prove to you how pathetic I am, I couldn't even make it down the driveway at B's house before crying. Not just a few tears. I was crying pretty hard. Luckily, he was the last stop.
This whole new world used to be exciting and inviting. And now I'm wondering what in the world am I thinking? Reality hit. Hard. So now it's 3:30 in the morning and I'm blogging because I can't sleep because I'm bawling my eyes out realizing how wonderful my life is here.
Example 1: Today I get a text from Josef that said he wanted to see me before I left. Cue tear fest. For those who don't know, I was J's first friend at CLHS. And I'm soooo glad I talked to him in that PE class. He is such an inspiration.
Example 2: Sam Omiotek printed some of his lovely shots of Lakeport for me to take to school with me. I'm so glad I can hang a piece of home in my room.
Example 3: I can just show up at people's houses and there's no judgments.
Example 4: Brooke posting on my Facebook Wall. You're amazing and beautiful and I love you and I miss you!!!!! :) ♥
Example 5: Rachel and Scott being so loving and kind all these years. I appreciate their support.
Example 6: Going to Mitch's house and having 10 people there to say goodbye too. I love those people.
Example 7: Ty staying in his undies when I went to say bye. Definitely love there.
Example 8: B letting me live in denial. Even though he has class today. But just for a minute, letting me pretend it wasn't happening. Living in the moment.
My friends always know just what I need. I KNOW I will never be able to replace or substitute or come anywhere close to what I have now. But I sure hope that I have something. And mainly enjoy myself.
On a side note, I will be in the car for 12 hours tomorrow. Text me and keep me company.

Countdown to Moving

How else do I celebrate than with Brittani day with Brendan? Too bad I'm super indecisive so it kinda failed. lol

So of course we go buy ice cream. Because when you get bored you eat.

Then we drive around. Where? Oh, pick up the little bro, go get school supplies, and then drop him off. And then drive around the lake. Like, literally. We went almost to Blue Lakes and then out to Buckingham (Google Map it, yo.) and every road in Finley.

Pizza Lessons from Captain Mike. Someday he might relive his pizza parlor days.

Shark Week, Little Mermaid, Zombies and Rugrats.

One day I might get bored. But for now I'm soaking it all up.

Roommate Moments #5

Haley left Hawaii last night.

You know what that means?

She gets to move in first. Rude.

So Many Cray Cray Vacays Bay Bay

This has been stuck in my head since Saturday night - all thanks to Tom and Marissa. I'm not complaining (completely) because it's super catchy.

Alright so they vacays. They weren't quite vacays. But all the driving made it seem like it.

Saturday: Leave home to drive to Willits for a baby shower.
Pick up Marissa in Redwood Valley on the way.
After baby shower go to Kohl's in Ukiah.
Drive home to Lakeport for a going away party.
Melt in the 108 degree weather and then leave for the dance.
Drive to Rohnert Park for the dance.
Leave the dance to go to In and Out (for a hour and a half...).
Get lost (a couple times) driving to Chelsea's.
Stay up till 2-ish.

Sunday: Church at 9. Gross.
Missionary farewell!
Saw Elder Brower, my home boy.
Chat with Jake Otteson for two hours.
Barbies with Marble for an hour.
Nap time for three.
Dinner with the missionaries (Stainbeck and Nelson).
Drive to the other side of Santa Rosa to the Hardesters for some BYU mingling.
Back to Chelsea's to say bye!

Monday: Work at 9. One more day.
Leave at 12.
Get ready to pick up Ty in Sac and find out 20 is closed so we have to drive through Napa. Thank goodness Brendan was there.
Get back at 9. Eight hours driving is awesome.
Say good bye to Christopher (a momma goose boy) .
Stay up late blogging.

Check.

I think it's time for some sleep.

Thing 8/30: Passions

What are five things you're passionate about?

1. Community Service - I love love love it. It's part of the reason why I got so involved in school and it has played a major role in my decisions for the future. Some times I think adults think I'm lying about it.

2. Church - Sure I whine and complain sometimes (I know I shouldn't) but it makes my life beautiful. Not to mention all the wonderful people I've met because of church. I can't even begin to write about it.

3. Education - Yeah people think I lie about this, too. But sometimes, there's nothing better than to actually understand a concept and see it applied in life. I love it.

4. Food - More in the winter than the summer apparently. It helps with the fact that I guess I get all weird (health wise) when I don't eat like every three hours. However, seafood is not applicable to my food passion.

5. People - Everyone is so interesting in their own way. Not necessarily a good way, but I love how everyone is so different. People watching is definitely something fun to do. And eavesdropping. I'm pretty fantastic at both so fair warning.

Did you know?

That there are such things as zombie experts? It was on the history channel so it has to be true. I now know that I need to run to the McQueen residence because A.) They're out in the boonies. Sort of. B.) They have guns. C.) They know how to use them. D.) B and I watched the zombie experts talk about preparedness for the zombie apocalypse together so he knows what's up.  And E.) They might try to help me out. Maybe.

So What If It's A Week Later

I want to blog about the Giants game.

Baseball is one sport I'll watch and not complain. I actually thoroughly enjoy it. I can't stand watching it with my boys though (Mainly Oren) because they get all analytical about it and I could care less what kind of pitch he threw. And don't even get me started on how cute baseball players are...

It wasn't until a few years ago that I really got into baseball. I guess it was a given. Both my brothers play baseball, my stepdad plays Old Men League softball, and two of my sisters play softball. Everything about it makes me happy. People say it's two slow and nothing happens, and yes I've been to many games that end up having seven innings of unexcitement. But that's part of the beauty of it. Each game is different. The dynamic is always changing. New pitchers, new line-up. Every game starts new. Not to mention the sights and sounds of a ballpark - there's nothing like it!

Junior year, I went to nearly EVERY SINGLE home game for the high school. Every one! I had to watch Ty on the JV team and Oren on the varsity team. It was definitely and interesting season. And the reason for many sleepless nights because I spent homework time at the field. This last year, I went to a few games, but wish I could've gone to more. Unfortunately, my baseball buddy moved and wasn't here this year. So I had to fly solo more than a few times.

Anyways back to the game.

Last Monday, I carpooled to work with my mom thinking I didn't have any plans for the day. I didn't even do my hair. Like no effort whatsoever went in to that ponytail just so I could sleep in longer. On top of that I was in grubby clothes because we were moving everything back into place after painting. I didn't have any plans that evening because it was Becca's birthday and I knew she'd be busy, Brendan was in Alaska, and I'd spent all weekend with the boys.

So needless to say I was rather surprised when Becca called me after my lunch break to ask if I wanted to go the game with her. Was she high? Of course I wanted to go! On the way down, we snacked on the Sour Patch Kids from TimTam and Nick played zombies. I drooled over Lisa's Brazilian Blowout (her hair looked killer). Bec brought me some supes cute clothes to change into (and I got to wear a supes cute hat from Lorna) because I thought for sure I'd be freezing. Oh no. WE WERE IN A SUITE. A freaking suite. At AT&T Park. I was so excited.

Patrick paid for food, that sweetheart (no pun intended). The bathrooms were pristine. They even played jazz music like the CSNBA channel does when the games not on. Buster Posey caught. Bumgarner pitcher. Game went into extra innings. I got a free rally rag. Someone asked me what the Ks on the wall were (shaking my head). And it doesn't even matter that Scutaro blew the game when he struck out in the bottom of the ninth with bases loaded and a tie game. Okay it matters a little. But the best part was making memories with the Lamberts.

And let's just say the ride home was definitely interesting.

And I can't forget Hayden trying to wake Becca and I up in the morning, shoving raisins in our mouths.

Yep, life is good.
