Here's to You... Yes, You!

Yes we are friends and I do like to pass the day with you in serious and inconsequential chatter.  I wouldn't mind washing up beside you, dusting beside you, reading the back half of the paper while you read the front.  We are friends and I would miss you, do miss you and think of you very often.  I don't want to lose this happy space where I have found someone who is smart and easy and doesn't bother to check her diary when we arrange to meet.  ~Jeanette Winterson, Written on the Body, 1992

To my friends, I love you and think of you often. You light up my laugh with laughter and happiness, and I can always count on you for anything. New friends, old friends, best friends, friends I've lost touch with, friends I haven't met yet, family friends... I love you all :)

I Can't Think of a Witty Title

Last night helped me to realize I'm so grateful for the stressful times in my life. Without them, I wouldn't appreciate hanging with my girls and getting chocolate wasted and staying up till 3 in the morning or Jennea's parents making breakfast, or, yes, even Faith obnoxiously waking us up and ditching out on breakfast ;) And I especially love letting it all out and not having to be so gosh darn composed all the time!! Pretty much, I love having fun. And the fact that it finished off finals week AND there's a tri-stake tonight? Tops the whole thing off!

Have you ever stopped to see how beautiful life is? And that everyday we can wake up and try again? Isn't that freaking amazing?!? And don't you love the little things you learn everyday? Even the ones you think don't matter? Yeah, Life is pretty amazing. I'm so grateful for the people in it that help me aaaaaaand make it interesting. lol My family, my friends, music.... wow. Beautiful :)

The Hardest Thing

Today was an interesting day. I'll spare the details and just get to the point. Sometimes, all we want to do is be able to reach out and help someone who means so much to us. When the person hurting them is someone you care about too, you can't pick sides though. So what do you do? Let. Them. Fall. They'll only grow stronger because of it. Marvin J. Ashton said, "We should be more concerned with what we do with what happens to us than what happens to us." Sometimes, though, we have to let those we love make their decisions, good or bad, on their own and let them learn on their own. I guess basically I need to stop being so protective (invasive is another good word lol). I know this lesson will become more apparent through my life, but I also know the reward of falling and knowing the low, and then picking yourself up and finding how great it feels to be up high. For those I may have offended in the past, I'm sorry. We're all learning and I'm not perfect. But, everyday is a chance to learn.

What saves a man is to take a step.  Then another step.  It is always the same step, but you have to take it.  ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Wind, Sand and Stars, 1939, translated from French by Lewis Galantière

Remember, if you’re headed in the wrong direction, God allows U-turns!  ~Allison Gappa Bottke

Today I'm grateful for breaks. Getting out at 12:30 is amazing. But so is school. Learning is an important part of life. No matter how much we all hate it. :)

Inspired

As I read my little lamby's blog I felt so inspired that I decided to start my own blog. Now I may not be able to find Christ in blog like she is, but I hope I will come to a gratitude for the many wonderful things in my life EVERYDAY! Doesn't that make you happy? Knowing that you are loved and blessed? I'm so glad I know this to be true :) So, for the first thing I'm thankful for.. (drumroll please)

THE WARMTH OF THE SUN!
Oh, how I've missed you these summer months. I hope that we can develop a lasting relationship. Please don't go away and don't let Mr. Doom and Gloom (aka the rain) come back anytime soon. :) I love California
