Thing 3/30: My Parental Unit

Describe your relationship with your parents.

My parents? I have four. Mom, stepdad, Dad, stepmom. One big happy family. I'm a pretty lucky gal when it comes to having amazing people in my life. These four fall in that category. They would do anything for me. And I'm glad because doing things on your own sucks.

I Have These Really Awesome People in My Life Like...{one}

Kameron

We're totally in love (not really) and I'm not going to BYU, but rather the JC in Santa Rosa to be closer to him (not really but he wishes).

I think I corrupted him.

We like to go on fake dates together.

Tutti Frutti is our favorite.

A lot of times, he chooses video games over me (not cool, bro).

We take a lot of pictures together because we're pretty much the two hottest people alive.

And both the most albino people EVER.

"Our Song" is Save The Last Dance For Me because 90% of the time I see his beautiful face it is at a multi-stake church dance.
(See pictures 1 and 3)

But mostly I love him because he makes me laugh. So I'll keep him around.

PS. This post was created because someone *ahem* (Kameron) said my blog wasn't cool because there was nothing about him on it.

Thing 2/30: Three Fears

Describe three legitimate fears and how they became fears.
1. I fear the future because I have no control over it. Point blank.
2. I fear (future) relationships because I never see successful ones. Marriage is DEFINITELY not in my near future. Long, long, long, LONG time away.
3. I fear for humanity. Read the Lake County Record Bee and you will, too.

Roommate Moments #2

Haley: Fine, Brittani. Just go. So when you wake up you can save the world with your froyo.

Later

Brittani: That froyo line was definitely blog worty.
Haley: Many of my thoughts are blog worty.
Brittani: Like that one.
Haley: I was mocking you. That's the best part. I was mocking your typo and you didn't even get it.
          That's wonderful.

Thing 1/30: List 20 random facts about yourself.

1. I love Disney and secretly I'm a princess. Okay not really, but I wish.

2. My best friends are a group of boys (MY boys) and I love them to pieces. They call me Momma Goose.

3. After much deliberation, I decided to attend BYU for at least the next four years. Cheers!

4. I absolutely hate (I repeat HATE) cold weather. Here goes cold Provo. lol

5. My ultimate goal in life is to change the world. At the least one person's world.

6. GRAMMAR ERRORS DRIVE ME NUTSO. Seriously, people, go back to elementary school.

7. Favorite smell in the world? A bookstore. Preferably Barnes and Noble. But I'm not too picky.

8. People in high school who are consumed with being in love annoy me. A lot. No offense. I just think there are a lot of other things you can focus your time on and the majority of these relationships won't last.

9. I know that I overextend myself, but I would be way bored without a million things to do at once.

10. I haven't even had one semester at BYU and I already want to study abroad. (Clinic work in Africa, anyone?)

11. I love running water, flushing toilets, and two-ply toilet paper. Two treks and six years of girls camp will do that to a person.

12. I want to get married in the Las Vegas temple. Mainly so I can tell people I got married in Vegas. But hey, all the temples are beautiful, so why not choose one?

13. I cheered for a total of seven years. And I loved it. Not because of the uniforms (they're not that comfy), but because I loved being able to be apart of something that HAS to be perfect. Yes, I'm a minor perfectionist.

14. I'm more willing to clean out other people's rooms than my own. Nine times out of ten, my room is an absolute disaster.

15. I fell in love with musical theater when I saw Wicked in 2009. I saw it again in 2010 (still amazing, btw) and auditioned for Footloose in 2011. Little did I know, I would get a major role. It was one of the best decisions I made senior year (and that includes not taking AP Calc).

16. I'm Mormon. Just in case you didn't catch that from my other posts. PS. Stalk away!

17. Twilight, Glee, and Harry Potter fan before it was cool. HIPSTER

18. I CAN'T STAND people who are Debbie Downers/Eeyores. Can't do it. So I avoid them.

19. I love mint chip ice cream with caramel, double-stuf oreos, rolo mcflurries, grilled cheese sammies, and quesadillas. Hopefully I won't gain like 800 pounds next year...

20. Last but not least, I don't know how to study. I've tried and I feel stupid. Someone, help?

Life Motto According to Haley and Brittani

Just take everyone out, yo.

Roommate Moments

Talking about our favorite Disney Princesses:

Me: Mine's Little Mermaid. #winnng

Haley: Well duh. Because Ariel doesn't have a soul either.

Later talking about my present:

Me: Pps did you send my stuff yet? I'm getting antsy.

Haley: Duhh. Papa P mailed it this week. It should be there soon, depending on how fast the guy in the kayak paddles.

(Check out more episodes of roommate moments here.)

Hope

I wear these two bracelets everyday along with a hair tie on my right wrist. It's not because I like the colors. It's not because I want to be a hipster. And it's definitely not because it's my style (these things are huge on me!).

I wear them to show support. They both sponsor cancer survivorship. And its my way of showing my friend that I support him. He recently lost his mother to cancer. And being the tough, independent guy he is, he never talks about it. I mean NEVER. I feel like as long as I wear these, it's like some secret club. The "I love you. I'm here for you. A shoulder to cry on. Someone to hug. Someone to make you laugh. A getaway" club. And its membership is extremely exclusive. ;)

He and I may not talk about his mom. We may not talk about what he went through. Or what he goes through every day since she left. But we have a different way of communicating - through our actions. And to me, these bracelets are just that.

Life has a purpose

And I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful the purpose my life has particularly. (Check back later for a post with the deats. But this is a different story.) I found this article in seminary last year. And it has stuck with me since then. You can see the whole article here. But my favorite part is the boy's (Mike) journal entry that says:

To the girl I’m going to marry someday:
I don’t even know your name or where you live or anything about you, but I know you’re growing up some place the same as me. Do you ever get discouraged? I do. I have friends at school but nobody I can really talk to about what I’m thinking because none of them believe the same way. I just want you to know I’m trying to live the way I should. I’m doing okay so far, but it’s not easy sometimes. All my friends are drinking now, so there’s not much I can do with them anymore on the weekends. I run along a bike path when I need to think. I really wish we could spend some time together now.
I’ll be glad when I finally get to meet you. I want to live so I never do anything that I’d be ashamed to tell you about.
There are a lot of things I need to do now to prepare for the future. Right now the biggest thing is to save up for my mission. And after that I need to try to figure out what I want to do for a living.
I’ve been thinking about you lately and about when we get married. Sometimes it’s hard not to think about the things that go with marriage. But I guess I can stand holding off until you’re my wife. My bishop says it’s worth waiting, to make it the way God wants it to be.
Guess what. I love you even if I don’t know your name or where you live.
Love, your future husband, Mike
The story, to me, puts my life in perspective. At the young age of 18, I understand I've got a whole lot of living left to do. And a WHOLE lot of time before I even think about marriage. But it definitely gives me reason to live my life in such a way that I can find my future gorgeous, RM, perfect  husband. As if the temple, the prophets, my Savior, and my God weren't good enough reasons.

I promise...

... I'm gonna *try* to do this. Keep up my blog. Sometimes I wonder if these words just sit on the internet. And no one sees them but me. But I should be keeping a journal. So perhaps, I'm the only person that needs to see this.
